So, since I’ve last wrote a number of changes happened. And changes are exciting, for me, not for E.
Change No. 1:
We’ve moved house! It was a long and painful process to get there but we managed in the end. E wasn’t very keen on moving but the rest of us were. We really needed more space. The first night we slept here, A was super excited where as E was sick in bed and won’t come out. Now, considering he’s normally the first one up at 5am, yes I said 5am at weekends (6am during the week) I thought it was a bit odd. But after a few days he started enjoying it. So we’re not back to his non-stop chattering self.
Change No. 2 (and 2.5)
I’ve started a new job! Full time. At the deep end but from home. But, I had to go away for 2 weeks training (this is the 2.5) leaving the boys (inc. S) to fend for themselves in the jungle. Everyone thought everything is going to be fine (well, everyone apart from me) and S was confident he’s going to hold the fort with one hand tied behind his back. It turns out I had the most relaxing and sociable time in 8 years and S took a taste of my own life pre-full-time-work plus working full time.1
Coming back was even more exciting. S, E & A were all over me. A said to me, ‘Do not ever go anywhere else on your own Mummy!’. Life was good, the life I thought I will have once I have kids; where kids listen to every word I say, do whatever I tell them to do and have a never ending supply of hugs and kisses. This lasted for a few days, but it was good while it lasted!
- To his defence he managed pretty well and cutting down losing-it time by a huge margin compared to mine. S is very encouraging and he was the one originally suggesting to start thinking about doing some IT work to try to bring back my sanity – whatever I can still recover from it!
